Arrowverse Shows I want to See

06.02.2021

The Arrowverse is ever-expanding. But for the past years, mostly since Arrow ended, the universe has felt off. Something isn't right and it shows when you look at the audience. But even if they've had problems, the Arrowverse is developing new shows like Superman and Lois. I believe there are other shows they really should make. So let's get into my very not likely wishlist...

5. Birds of Prey

I've said this more than once, I really want a Birds of Prey show in the Arrowverse. I believe this would be a perfect sequel to Arrow. We aren't getting Green Arrow and The Canaries, so why not take the Canaries and put them in Birds of Prey.

We've seen a few characters from the Birds of Prey in the Arrowverse. We got two Black Canaries and Huntress. There is also White Canary who in the Arrowverse is a hero. She could also join the show.

There is a bit of an elephant in the room with this. Felicity Smoak. And my opinion on this is very simple. Don't have her in the show. We don't need Overwatch. Especially because we know there is another hacking girl in the Arrowverse. This being Barbara Gordon. The former Batgirl. We know this because in Arrow when Oliver gave Felicity the codename Overwatch, he mentions Oracle who is Barbara Gordon. She should be introduced on this show.

The easiest way to do this show is that Dinah and Laurel want to protect the peace Oliver brought to Star City. Something comes to Star City that they want to stop. I was originally thinking this could be Black Mask but he is currently on Batwoman. Therefore, we will have to get another character. I was thinking of someone like The Penguin. Oswald Cobblepot is a really good character who was perfectly made on the show Gotham. And I believe Oswald would work great as an antagonist against the Birds of Prey. They could have him going to Star City because 1, the city doesn't have a hero and 2, both Gotham and Blüdhaven has heroes. Being Batwoman and Nightwing.

If Sara Lance leaves Legends of Tomorrow, she could join this show instead. But what I think is more important. Huntress and Oracle. The best way to do this is that Helena has become more of a good guy since we last saw her. She is now working alongside Barbara Gordon who is her "girl in the chair". They are after The Penguin and runs into the Black Canaries.

Now, we have a full team. Laurel Lance, Dinah Drake, Helena Bertinelli, and Barbara Gordon. This team could expand through seasons. Adding Stephanie Brown AKA Batgirl or Spoiler, Cassandra Cain who could be Orphan or Black Bat, Hawk, and Dove who would work perfectly with the bird's theme. This could also make us see villains like Lady Shiva, David Cain, a reappearance of Talia al Ghul, and even more obscure characters who we barely see in live-action.

5. Teen Titans

This is the show I want the least, especially with where we are not with the Arrowverse. But I still believe it would be pretty cool. The biggest problem is that it would be too much like the Titans show we already have.

But, in the Arrowverse, we know Nightwing exists. Robin was confirmed on Batwoman and in an old Arrow novel (which they say is canon), Nightwing is mentioned. So we do have Dick Grayson out there who could lead the team.

We also have characters like Kid Flash, Arsenal, Speedy, Miss Martian, Black Lightning's daughters, and probably others that I forget at the moment. So we do have a pretty good amount of members for the team.

There are even Teen Titans villains in the Arrowverse already. The biggest one is Deathstroke. The last time we saw him he went out to find Grant Wilson. They could have Grant as The Ravager and the Teen Titans accidentally kill him. Leading to Deathstroke wanting them dead.

Depending on how old Dick is, they could even have Jason Todd get into it as Red X.

I do believe this show would've worked much better right after season 3 of The Flash. Because in season 4, Wally was pushed to the side and jumped to Legends and all that. We had Miss Martian in that part. Colton Haynes has just dropped out and would in a year or two be ready to join the Arrowverse again. It would've worked really well. But nevertheless, I still believe a Teen Titans show would be really cool in the Arrowverse.

4. Green Lantern

In the last episode of Arrow, John Diggle found what was very directly teased to be a Green Lantern ring. Since then, there have been many rumors surrounding the Green Lantern character. He is supposed to show up on different shows this year but we don't know if it is as Green Lantern or just John Diggle.

Some rumors say that they are allowed to make Diggle into a Green Lantern if it means he is the only Green Lantern. If that is the case, I would rather have him on another show. Like a Justice League show. But if that isn't the case, a Green Lantern show would be amazing.

There are multiple ways to do a Green Lantern show. The first is a standard CW show. This would be very underwhelming. The CW budget is far too small to work for a Green Lantern show. The other way is a CW and HBO Max partnership shows. Kind of like Superman and Lois. This would be really cool but I am still not sure if the budget would be enough to go all-in with it. The last way, and the one I like the most, is an animated Green Lantern show starring David Ramsey's John Diggle.

The way I am thinking is to make the show animated to make sure we can go all-in with the Green Lantern powers. I want to see twenty to thirty Green Lanterns fighting forty Red Lanterns and have it look good. The show could also introduce Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, and Kyle Rayner.

If they do it animated, there is one thing they would have to think about. Cast voice actors who look like the characters. This way, we could have a crossover with The Flash that is live-action. We get live-action John Diggle and Hal Jordan Green Lanterns along with The Flash. Even if their own show is animated. Much like they did with Vixen on Arrow.

This is an idea I had for a long time and I truly believe they can't do Green Lantern justice with a tv budget. If they don't get tech from The Mandalorian and a Disney+ budget.

3. Batman Beyond (ish Arrowverse)

In Crisis on Infinite Earths, we saw Kevin Conroy as Bruce Wayne. A Bruce Wayne who had become a killer after all the years of being Batman. But, at the end of Crisis, the multiverse was remade and we didn't see if anything changed with Conroy's Batman. I believe they should make a show in that world after it has been changed where he never became a "villain" but instead, he left the cape and cowl because his body couldn't take it anymore. And when Terry McGinnis finds the suit, he decided to become the new Batman.

The show would give a new spin on Batman for viewers who haven't seen Batman Beyond. And with this, it would feel different compared to any other DC show.

The best way to do the show is to have it on HBO Max. HBO Max would give the show a higher budget which would be needed to really get the Neo Gotham feeling the animated show had.

Because the show wouldn't be directly connected to anything, there would be much more they can do with the show too. They could get Ra's al Ghul on the show. Or Mr. Freeze. Even having some Justice League members. Let's say Brandon Rough is this Earth's Superman as well. Get him on the show with a new suit. Or have a Dark Knight Returns inspired Green Arrow played by Stephen Amell appear in an episode. I do believe he would agree to make an appearance if it was only for one episode.

I also believe the show should dive deeper into the Batfamily than the cartoon did. In the animated show, we didn't really see what happened to Dick Grayson. We did in the comics though so let's do it on the show. The same thing with Jason Todd. It would be awesome if they cast Jensen Ackles as an older Jason Todd. This would both work really well with the story. Let Terry see Batman's greatest failure. And it would be a big thing for fans of the Under The Red Hood movie where Jensen voiced Jason.

If they don't want to use Ra's al Ghul, I believe one of the best things would be to take inspiration from the Batman Beyond Rebirth comics. Where Ra's seems to be the villain for a few issues. They show him with his Animated Series mask and then it is revealed that it isn't Ra's al Ghul. Or at least not the Ra's Bruce fought. This is a new Ra's al Ghul whose real identity is Damian Wayne. Bruce's son. In the comic, he decides not to tell Terry until Terry faces Damian by himself. They also say that Terry doesn't stand a chance. Not even Batman in his prime would be able to defeat Damian at this point. Having Damian Wayne as Ra's al Ghul would further push the idea that Bruce never gets to be happy.

This is a show I really want to see. Especially since I began reading the Batman Beyond comics. This show would be one of the best DC shows ever, if it was made properly.

2. Birds of Prey

I've said this more than once, I really want a Birds of Prey show in the Arrowverse. I believe this would be a perfect sequel to Arrow. We aren't getting Green Arrow and The Canaries, so why not take the Canaries and put them in Birds of Prey.

1. Justice League

A Justice League show in the Arrowverse would be perfect. Make a partnership with HBO Max to make sure the budget is high enough and then we have 13 episode seasons.

We already have a Justice League in the Arrowverse. Being Supergirl, The Flash, Superman, Batwoman, Martian Manhunter, White Canary, and Black Lightning. But Kate Kane AKA Batwoman has left the Arrowverse, Supergirl is on her last season, and Black Lightning is also ending. Meaning we will have to make a new team.

I was thinking Superman, Batman, The Flash, Martian Manhunter, White Canary, Black Lightning, and maybe John Diggle Green Lantern. This would work if all the actors want to be on the show.

Tyler Hoechlin is currently doing Superman and Lois but that show isn't the full 23 episodes that the Arrowverse often works with. Because of this, he would probably have time to do another show that is only 13 episodes.

Warren Christie was introduced in the finale of Batwoman season 1 as the actor of Bruce Wayne. He played Thomas Elliot AKA Hush who only had Bruce Wayne's face. But if Batwoman does a story where Bruce Wayne returns, they could put Batman in a Justice League show. This would be the best decision to do with Batman in the Arrowverse because Bruce would take the spotlight from Ryan Wilder if he became a regular on Batwoman.

Grant Gustin is the star of The Flash. But The Flash is a legacy character in the comics. Meaning, the man having The Flash title changes. I believe the best thing to do is let a Wally West take the title. Keiynan Lonsdale who played Wally West on The Flash show is good but they never give him anything to do. I would like him as The Flash but it feels like the CW didn't want to give Keiynan a real arc on the show, If they decide not to use Keiynan or if he doesn't want to take over as the star of The Flash, get someone like KJ Apa to play the Pre-Crisis Wally West. Being the redhead one. Have him coming from a separate timeline or he could have a similar thing to the Rebirth Wally. He was there but because of events caused by another being (Doctor Manhattan), he was forgotten. Either way, the idea is to get a new star of The Flash show and put Grant's Barry Allen in the Justice League show.

Both Martian Manhunter and Black Lightning are coming from shows that will end. It all depends on how their stories end and what the actors want. I really like Black Lightning. The show has been kinda slow but the character and actor do a really good job. The same with Martian Manhunter. He is a fantastic character and on a Justice League show, he would get so much more to do.

Caity Lotz's Sara Lance is the leader of the Legends of Tomorrow. Having her in the Justice League show is mostly because she was in the Justice League at the end of Crisis on Infinite Earths. But they do not have to use her. It all depends on if she continues to be on Legends of Tomorrow or not. If they can't use her and if they don't do my number 2, Birds of Prey, Katie Cassidy's Black Canary could take her place in the Justice League.

When it comes to John Diggle Green Lantern, it is all about what they want to do with that character. If they are allowed to use Green Lantern and if the Justice League show could get the budget for it. I really like David Ramsey's John Diggle but we don't know what plans they have for the character. if the budget isn't enough, he could be a guest star on the show.

The main villain of the first season should really be Brainiac. Brainiac is a good Justice League-level threat that hasn't been in the Arrowverse. He could also be done with minimal CGI. Just look at the show Krypton. They had a version of Brainiac that looked amazing and that was mostly makeup. I do believe the first season of Justice League should have a similar design for Brainiac and have him as the main villain.

The show could also go deeper into the Justice League team. Introducing Wonder Woman who will probably appear in some way in the Wonder Girl show. We could also see Hal Jordan, some sort of Blue Beetle, Cyborg, and other characters like it. They could even go the Justice League Unlimited route and make the team really big.
