Episode 1 "A Hell Hole Called Gotham"

Bruce Wayne. The billionaire who lost his parents as an eight-year-old now returns to Gotham City. He hasn't been in Gotham for the past six years. He's traveled across the world training in different martial arts. Now he's back and Gotham City is ready for their lost son. The press is standing at the airport taking pictures and asking questions but Bruce doesn't bother. He gets to a cab and drives right away to Wayne Manor. 

Meanwhile, detective Jim Gordon arrives in Gotham by train. Jim was a police detective in Chicago but after he tried to get a dirty cop behind bars, the police force made sure he was transferred to Gotham City Police Department. Believing the GCPD would teach Gordon some manners. 

Bruce later arrives at Wayne Manor where Alfred Pennyworth is cleaning. Alfred smiles when he sees Bruce stepping out of the car. At this point, Alfred hadn't seen Bruce in years. And Alfred had always been Bruce's guardian. Ever since the Waynes were killed. And even before that, Alfred took care of Bruce alongside his parents. Bruce walks inside as he looks at a painting of his parents and himself as a child. We get a flashback showing the death of Thomas and Martha Wayne. They went out of a theatre alongside Bruce. As they passed through an alley, a man went up to them and shot both Thomas and Martha. Bruce stood alone in the dark. Falling to his knees as we fade back to the now-adult Bruce Wayne in Wayne Manor. 

Jim Gordon arrives at his apartment. Inside, Jim's wife, Barbara Kean-Gordon is packing up. Jim stops her. Barbara is pregnant and we see that Jim doesn't want her to work now. Jim is only home for a few hours before he leaves for the police department. There, Jim meets Commissioner Loeb. Loeb shows Jim the police department. He then introduces Gordon to his new partner, Detective Arnold Flass. Flass. Flass and Jim decide to patrol Gotham's streets for the two to get to know each other. They drive through the city as Jim notices how bad the slums actually are in Gotham. Flass then stops a car as he sees a teenager he knows. The boy is beaten up by Flass as he grabs what looks like a pocket knife from him. Jim hesitates as he tries to stop Flass but Flass gives him the "knife". As they sit in the car, Gordon notices it wasn't a knife. It is a comb. 

Jim and Flass talk about Gotham City as Flass explains most people are criminals in Gotham City. At least most people in the slums. They steal, assault, and even murder people for nothing more than cash. He even refers to Thomas and Martha Wayne while talking about this. 

At Wayne Manor, Bruce Wayne is training. He lifts weights and punches straight through brick. Alfred walks up to Bruce as he says "It's time".
