Titans Season 1

27.07.2021

Titans will be part of the Arrowverse instead of its own universe. This is because 1, I don't see a reason not to build upon the Arrowverse on other networks, and 2, I believe a show about the Teen Titans is the best way to introduce characters like Raven, Nightwing, and Robin. This will be season 1 of the show which is a lot different from the actual season 1 of Titans

Casting

An important part that will be changed is the casting of a few characters. We will not see Ryan Potter and Teagan Croft in their roles as Beast Boy and Raven. The reason for this is that the two of them are supposed to be a lot older than they are in the actual show. It is sad as I really like the two, especially Teagan in her role. When it comes to who will get these roles instead, I am not sure. I was thinking about having Cameron Boyce as Beast Boy but Cameron has sadly passed away.

We will also recast Anna Diop's Starfire. The reason for this is that I believe another actress would work better in the role. This being Zendaya. I truly believe Zendaya would make a better Starfire than Anna but that is only personal preference.

Ryan Potter won't leave the show though as I've always seen Ryan as a perfect Tim Drake. Before being cast as Beast Boy, Ryan made a video of him doing stunts as he fought through multiple men. This was to showcase that he could be a good Robin. He even ended the video by saying "Ben, every Batman needs a Robin". I will make sure Ryan stays on the show as Tim Drake to make sure he can show of both his acting and his stunt abilities.

Background

The season will take place in 2019 even if it is released in 2018. This is mainly because it works better with the story.

Some things need to be cleared up before beginning to make it easier to understand. This isn't the first time the Titans are created. They were a team back in the days. Created in 2011 and was disbanded in 2016. The original team showed Robin (Dick Grayson), Raven, Beast Boy, Starfire, and Wonder Girl (Donna Troy).

In 2016, the team was disbanded because of two members being killed. These were Arsenal and Robin (Jason Todd). Roy Harper joined the team after leaving Arrow in season 3. Here we see some of these things in flashbacks but he was later killed in 2016 in a battle against Deathstroke. A building fell over him and Slade but they found Roy's arm. Jason had somewhat left the team as he felt they didn't back him up. He went after The Joker alone which in turn led to his death.

In 2018, Batman disappeared. No one knows why he disappeared but he is gone. It isn't long after this Kate Kane gets to Gotham City and becomes Batwoman. As the reason she returns to Gotham in this rewrite will be Bruce's disappearance. Now, into the show...

Plot

The show begins in early 2019, Gotham City. The current Robin, Tim Drake, is patrolling the city. We see his life. He patrols Gotham at night and gets back home to his parents during the day. Tim hasn't been Robin for that long. He was Robin around six months before Bruce disappeared. Leading to Tim going solo. Tim's base of operations is an abandoned Wayne Enterprises warehouse and not the Batcave. He left the Batcave when Bruce disappeared. He doesn't know Batwoman either. For the past few months, Tim has been investigating Batwoman but because she isn't working with the few Batfamily members he knows of, he doesn't trust her. The ones he knows of being Alfred Pennyworth who he actually knows, Dick Grayson who he's heard of, Jason Todd who is dead, and Barbara Gordon who he knows was Batgirl.

When Tim is out patrolling one night, he is attacked by a man in black armor. The man has a skull-like mask with a red x on it. The man beats Tim down before leaving him to fall off a building. Robin uses his grappling hook to save himself and gets back to the warehouse. He recognized the suit and therefore begins to go through his computer which has a copy of most Batcomputer files. While doing this, he learns the man who attacked him was Red X. An allies used by Dick Grayson when he was working undercover to get close to Deathstroke.

In Blüdhaven, we are introduced to Detective Dick Grayson. Dick has left the vigilante life behind him but is currently working on a case outside of the police department. This being the Red X case. Dick knows of a man using the Red X costume to steal tech. Grayson is investigating this as he feels he is somewhat responsible. But he still isn't using any suit.

We are also introduced to Rachel Roth aka Raven and Garfield Logan aka Beast Boy in Jump City. The two have been in a relationship for years and moved together in 2016. Around the same time, the Titans were disbanded. Ever since then, the two have been retired. Rachel is working at a coffee shop while Gar is delivering pizza.

Tim realizes he has to get in contact with Dick Grayson but he also knows calling Dick won't work. He, therefore, takes his computer and goes to Titans Tower in Jump City. As he arrives, Tim runs into Koriand'r aka Starfire. Kori has been living in Titans Tower since the team disbanded. She is confused as she doesn't know who Tim is or how he got there. Tim explains he is the new Robin, even showing his suit. He then explains he was attacked by Red X and is planning on creating a distress signal to alert the other Titans because he needs their help to stop Red X. Kori agrees and they send out a distress signal to Dick, Rachel, Gar, and Donna.

Dick, Rachel, and Gar get to the tower as Tim explains everything about Red X appearing in Gotham City. They are all surprised except for Dick. And Gar notices this. He yells at Dick when he realizes Dick knew about Red X and didn't get in contact with them. Dick says it wasn't their concern leading to Gar punching Dick in the face before leaving. Rachel follows Gar and convinces him to help Tim as he is young and doesn't know the danger of being a hero. Meanwhile, Tim talks to Kori. Trying to make her talk to Dick. But Kori tells Tim that she and Dick aren't on good terms since the team disbanded.

We will get a scene where Tim and Dick talk. Dick asks Tim why he didn't go to someone else. Like Batwoman. Tim explains he doesn't know her and that she is more amateur than both Batman and Dick. At first, Dick doesn't want to help Tim but he remembers what happened to Jason when he went solo. Leading to Dick agreeing to help.

Red X attacks a Stagg Industries facility and we see the Titans suit up for the first time since 2016. As we see this, we see flashes to the past where they all suited up. Dick is seen in his Robin suit in the past, and in his Nightwing suit in the present day. All the members have new suits in the present day compared to the past. They get to the facility and fight Red X but he bests them. The team isn't fighting as one anymore and he is able to take them down because of it. Dick also sees that Red X knows all their moves.

After the fight, Dick will talk to Gar. The two talk about everything that has happened and how Dick has always blamed himself for the deaths of Roy Harper and Jason Todd. That being the reason he didn't get in contact with them when he learned of Red X. The two friends settle their differences.

There will also be a few flashbacks in an episode. This shows how the team was created. Robin (Dick Grayson), Donna Troy, Beast Boy, and Raven all saw how Starfire was attacked by aliens from her home planet. They decided to help and fought together. They were able to save Starfire who kissed Dick to learn the English language.

The team will fight Red X again after this. During this fight, Red X is able to push Dick to the side. He and Dick have a one-on-one fight where Red X calls Nightwing "Dick". Revealing he knows Dick Grayson is Nightwing. After the fight, Dick looks at pictures of Red X doing a few moves and pictures of Jason Todd doing the same moves. Kori sees this and Dick explains the death of Jason made him fall apart. He blames himself more than he ever blamed Bruce. Kori and Dick get closer again as she is there for him. We also learn that the reason the two broke up was that Dick because of a bruting and depressed asshole. All because of his failures. 3

Nightwing assembles the team as they go to find Red X. They fight him and during the fight, Dick is able to crack his mask. This makes Red X take the mask off revealing Jaso... Roy Harper. Roy has been Red X all along. We learn that the reason he became Red X was that he blames the Titans for not finding him and letting Jason die. Roy's arm is also revealed to be a robot arm. Something he got from the man who made him into Red X. Roy is able to get away as the Titans go back to TItans Tower defeated.

The next to last episode is a flashback episode. We will see what happened that night in 2016 where both Roy and Jason died. The Titans and Jason argued leading to Jason leaving. After this, the team went up against Deathstroke. The fight was in the middle of the streets. We also cut to Jason who went to find The Joker as he had just shot Barbara Gordon. During this, Jason was kidnapped. Back with the Titans, Roy, Dick, and Slade all fought inside a building. When they realized they weren't strong enough, Dick ordered Raven and Starfire to make the building crumble. He and Roy ran to get out of it, but Slade cut Roy's arm off, leading to him falling. Dick got out just as the building fell over Roy and Slade. But now, we see Slade dragging Roy out of there. Back at Jason, he is beaten by The Joker near death. Joker then leaves for Batman to nearly save him. But the warehouse where Jason is explodes before he can get to it. We will see both Jason's and Roy's funerals. At Roy's funeral, we see Oliver Queen and Thea Queen. Oliver tells Dick he will make sure Slade is put back in the prison is Lian Yu.

In the present day, the Titans prepare for their final confrontation with Red X. They discuss it and decide not to send him to prison. They are going to save him. This is the first fight the Titans truly fight like one. They are able to beat Roy and Dick lends him a helping hand. The team says they will help Roy. Whatever it takes. But Roy refuses. Saying his mentor will destroy them all if he joins them. He then uses a flashbang to getaway.

As the team gets back to Titans Tower, they find the Red X costume and a letter from Roy. The letter explains that Roy will go back to Star City to get help from Oliver. It also says that it is about time for Roy to give Dick back his suit. It ends with Roy saying Slade Wilson is out and as soon as he realizes the team is back together, he will come for them.

The season ends with the team back together. They've saved their friend. And Dick begins training Tim Drake to become the best Robin he can be.

Conclusion

This season will focus a lot on rebuilding the Titans. We get more connections to the rest of the Arrowverse as both Roy Harper and Slade Wilson appeared on Arrow. Even Oliver Queen has a few cameos.

This season had a large focus on the Batfamily too. Or at least Dick and Tim. The next season won't have as large a focus on these two characters as we aren't doing Deathstroke right away. First, we are going with Blackfire to get more development on other characters like Kori. The next season will also take place in 2019 to make sure we aren't staying in the near future for crossovers and such in the Arrowverse.
